I didn't cut my own hair. I let my husband cut it instead.
When all this Covid-19 stuff started up and salons shut down, everyone knew there would be people cutting their own hair all over the place. I laughed when I complained about how shaggy my hair was getting and Andy suggested I take his haircut. He bics his head. No thank you.
I did however, decide to let him cut my hair.
It's hair.
It was already in a pixie (albeit a growing out shaggy one) and I figured it would grow back if the end result was bad. And I don't look too bad in hats and bandanas, so there's that.
Oh, yeah. And the whole stay at home thing going on right now means I might see people at the grocery store, but that's about it. There’s never been a better time to be risky with a haircut!
I had him watch a video with me that Kim Rhodes (Supernatural) livestreamed on facebook, where she addressed the rumors that she cuts her own hair, by cutting her own hair. Her NON-tutorial was perfect for him, very easy to follow. Thank the gods because the only hair he's ever cut before (and he’s actually left hair behind) is his beard.
He was only a little scared, but nothing like the girl whose hand visibly shook when she cut my hair when I went to the Aveda institute in Minneapolis! $7.00 for a haircut is awesome... if you have nerves of steel.
I think he did a pretty good job. I have four or five crazy cowlicks on the back of my head, and they all lay flat like they should, which I figured would have been the hardest part. You can decide for yourself how good of a job he did when you watch the video below.
