How we #stayathome
Last week, on March 25th, Governor Walz announced a Stay at Home order for Minnesota to last until at least April 9th. It wasn't a total surprise; it had been suggested before, and with so many other states settling in for their shut downs, kind of expected. So expected in fact, that Andy and I spent the week before getting almost everything together that we would need for the bus just in case we wouldn't be able to get it later.
We decided to move our lives to the bus and just work on the bus for the next two weeks.
This is our second morning waking up on the bus. Saturday night the air was warm and toasty but the air mattress was cold, because we forgot to insulate between it and the floor.
Last night we insulated under the air mattress, but lost a propane tank halfway through the night, so the mattress was warm but the air was a little chilly.
The ever-rising temps here should help over the rest of the time. It is supposed to be 50° here today and possibly 60° by the end of the week. I am definitely looking forward to those warmer clear nights. The roof has been calling my name.
Our plan is to work on building during the day (we’d like to have the kitchen done and the wall between Connor's room and the bathroom up by the time this two weeks is done) and video edit and write during the evening hours.
I know the thing I am looking forward to the most though, is spending our days together as couple, rather than parents. It’s been a long time since we've spent any significant time with each other without any kids around, and we've changed and grown so much over the last 20 years that it’s going to be really nice to get to know each other all over again.
